Neem Powder: Skin and Hair Treatment

Neem powder is a tried and tested formula for skin and hair treatment. This ayurvedic treatment is often used for various other problems too like, acne, eczema, fungal infections, psoriasis etc. Applying neem paste topically as a face pack is an effective way to get rid of maximum number of skin ailments as neem powder in itself is an excellent natural astringent and skin cleanser. The best part about it is that it is extremely easy to use.

Neem Powder for Skin Care

Here is the step by step procedure to prepare neem powder face pack. Check it out:

Step 1
For an effective neem face pack, the first thing you need to do is measure 1 tablespoon of neem powder in a small bowl.

Step 2
Next, stir the neem powder in clean water to make a thick paste. In case you have dry skin, it would be better for you to substitute water with olive oil. The neem pack is ready to use.

Step 3
Now, spread this paste in a thin layer all over the face except the eyes and its near by areas. Make sure that you avoid putting neem paste into the eyes or else it would end up being an irritant in the eyes.

Step 4
After 10-30 minutes, wash off the paste with lukewarm water as per the severity of the skin.

Neem Powder for Hair Care

This neem paste can alternatively be used as a hair pack for hair care too. Put the neem paste in between the hair locks and scalp and massage it gently at the hair roots. This would help in getting rid of dandruff and head lice. In fact, neem powder can also be used as a conditioner with amla, shikakai and henna powder for complete conditioning of hair.
